Toni's background. . .

Toni Tidwell, a veteran teacher of more than 20 years, quickly discovered that children learn best through music and verse. Having an extensive music background and having taught multi-cultural classrooms in Thailand and Arizona including the Gila River Indian Reservation, she developed a wonderful musical approach to teaching. Her songs teach opposites, days of the week, behavior at the library, saying “No” to drugs and alcohol and much, much more. “Color of the Week” teaches that grapes are purple, the sun is yellow and snow is white and goes through all the colors. As their love of these little songs grows, so do their language skills.

Toni has gone on to write other books for pre teens and adults, too, as well as a guide for single dads raising daughters.

The Tidwells live in Arizona, where Toni and her husband, Russell, raised their 3 children. She loves to play the piano and her husband loves nothing more than to listen to her play whether it’s Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Chopin or Joplin’s Ragtime tunes. Gardening, gathering fresh eggs from their chickens, having fruit and nut trees on their ranch is their perfect world. The two of them enjoy traveling, hiking, quadding, motorcycling, music and each other. Toni continues to write with a desire to educate and entertain and still plays the piano for her (and her husband’s) enjoyment and relaxation.
